Ura Vajgurore, Berat, March 18th, 2024. In a warm atmosphere and inspired by passion to protect our planet, the children of “5 Maji” 9th grade school, Ura Vajgurore, Dimal, recalled The World Recycling Day participating in numerous activities, becoming part of the various activities that are carried out within this day all over the world. The purpose of the activity was to sensitize students to the importance of their actions in protecting the environment and to promote good recycling and reuse practices.
In this activity, the students were focused on four main phases of waste management: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Recover. By taking part in a thorough discussion, they became aware of the impact of their daily actions on our planet and the importance of taking care of the environment for the future of the upcoming generations.
In a practical activity, students took part in the recycling action of plastic bottles transforming them into something useful and usable. After this successful activity, the students were encouraged to continue to practice sustainable habits and to carry out concrete actions to make a positive change in decreasing the plastic waste on the environment.
The activity was carried out in cooperation with the Berat Regional Administration of Protected Areas, as a joint initiative to develop environmental education classes with the schools in the area.
