Citizens and civil society representatives protested in parallel in Tirana and Bajram Curri, against the construction of hydropower plants in the Valbona river.
In the protest in front of the prime minister’s office, they asked Prime Minister Rama to cancel the concessionary contracts thus saving the development of tourism in the national park of Valbona.
The voice of the citizens was joined by the deputy of the socialist party Besnik Bare, who says that the construction of HPPs is not allowed in protected areas. According to Mr. Bare, the government should find an opportunity to solve this issue in cooperation with investors.
