December 5th, 2023. In the heart of Progonat, students from “Asim Zeneli” school celebrated World Soil Day in a unique and impactful way for the future. The day began with an environmental education hour, followed by a series of engaging outdoor games, educational to instill a sense of responsibility towards protecting our planet.
The main part of the activity was the hands-on experience of planting littleleaf linden (Tilia cordata), cherry plum (Prunus Cerasifera) and seedlings, transforming the schoolyard into a blooming oasis of biodiversity. The initiative aimed not only to beautify the environment but also to provide valuable lessons about the importance of Earth in preserving life.
Students, guardians of the future, learned essential skills such as proper care and watering techniques, especially crucial during dry periods. These practical lessons served as a reminder of the vital role the earth plays in the growth and well-being of all living things.
The success of this event would not have been possible without the support of the Progonat administration, whose commitment to encouraging a greener community has been unwavering. Special gratitude is extended to “Asim Zeneli” school for embracing this initiative with enthusiasm and dedication.
As we reflect on this celebration of World Soil Day, let us applaud the efforts of these young minds and the collaborative spirit of the community. Together, they have not only enriched their school environment but also planted the seeds of awareness and responsibility.
