Buzmadh, Fier, October 25th, 2024. Environmental education in the secondary schools found us this time at the “Veiz Myslymi” school in Buzmadh, Fier. During this session, the seventh-grade students were engaged in discussions about the issues related to the main elements of the environment: air, water resources, land, and forests.
They, enthusiastic about the environment, showed us that they were quite knowledgeable about environmental issues and were very aware of the need to protect and preserve it, with their ideas, and the fact that they reused various materials to create a sustainable environment inside their school.
The theoretical aspect was followed by a practical one, where the children, along with their teachers, participated. In this experiment, the students learned about the concept of action and counteraction using a balloon along a string. The balloon was filled with air and attached to one end of the string. When released, it moved to the other side due to the force of the air pressure. The experiment aimed to teach them that our actions also have counteractions and that we should positively influence the environment so it can positively counteract to us and our lives.
This session was quite successful, leaving on the students a positive impression and powerful remarks on how to protect the environment with small meaningful actions by cooperating with each other.
