Canyons of Osum, Berat, 16.05.2024. Within the framework of the ISCCA project, 19 students of the “Zylyftar Veleshnja” school, together with guests from RAPA Berat, became part of the educational activity in the Osum Canyons.
They learned about the “ecological corridor” concept, its importance for our country and beyond and the ways they can contribute to its protection and conservation. Starting from the surrounding areas they discovered the magical scenery and diverse biodiversity of the Osum River and the canyons, which traverse it.
In addition to the discussion part, the students also participated in the clean-up inside the Osum Canyons, as a collective effort to reinforce the importance of environmental care and community responsibility.
These activities bring us closer to nature and make the new generation aware that nature is valuable and that we are the ones who must help protect it. Taking this task step by step enables great transformation in the future. Additionally, those kind of activities teach pupils that nature is a joint responsibility, and the teamwork is the element causing positive change.
