In the chronicle published by Top Channel, the socio-economic situation of the residents of Bënçë village in Tepelën is presented.
The village of Benca is surrounded by mountains, canyons, rivers, forests and monuments of natural heritage. Bënça is a small village with about 40 residential houses where the third age prevails, who have no other income than livestock, collection and trading of medicinal plants.
The few residents who are physically able to work wait for the spring season to use the medicinal plants to secure even a little income. Despite the many water assets, their lands are not very fertile and the plans for the construction of some small hydropower plants harm the tourist potential of the area.
