Representatives of EcoAlbania and environmental activists protested in front of the Foreign Ministry about the Greek project for the diversion of Vjosa, but the activity took a different turn when the foreign minister, Ditmir Bushati, came to meet them.
After the meeting with the head of Albanian diplomacy, environmentalists and citizens have been in line with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Foreign Ministry gave the guarantee that the case has been followed and is being followed step by step, underlining that no deviation from international law will be allowed on this issue.
“The Greek side is very clear about our position on this project. We have made our position known to the Joint Commission for the Management of Transboundary Waters and we are following the situation, but we must be precise, that it is only a project and we are not dealing with a real project on the ground”, said Glevin Dervishi, advisor for Media at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
