A training session was held, in Elbasan, on February 29th, 2024, for biology teachers from 9-year schools in the Elbasan district. The aim of this session was to introduce teachers to the innovative book FiKiBio and provide them with the necessary tools and knowledge to seamlessly incorporate practical experiments into their teaching curriculum.
The FiKiBio book contains six modules with 75 experiments/educational outdoor activities, centered around themes such as Air, Climate Change, Forest, Water Resources, Solid Waste, and Energy Efficiency. Each activity is accompanied by information detailing the requisite student knowledge, places where the activity can be implemented, and references to the school curriculum according to the Institute for Educational Development (IZHA).
During the training, teachers were introduced to a wide range of experiments and methodologies outlined in FiKiBio. Through practical activities and interactive discussions, teachers gained knowledge on how to effectively engage their students and cultivate a deeper understanding of scientific concepts. Emphasis was placed on encouraging creativity and exploration, encouraging teachers to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of their students.
