Tirana, October 13th, 2026, EcoAlbania, as an environmental organization committed to environmental protection, education, civic participation, and the promotion of democratic values, expresses its full solidarity with students exercising their constitutional right to peaceful protest.
Our support for the students reflects the continuation of our longstanding commitment to civic engagement and the defense of fundamental rights, as demonstrated through our active participation in the Flamingo Revolution, alongside other environmental organizations, activists, and concerned citizens.
Throughout the Flamingo Revolution, EcoAlbania actively participated in peaceful demonstrations advocating for the protection of the Vjosa–Narta ecosystem, environmental justice, transparency, and institutional accountability. These protests represented not only a collective effort to defend Albania’s natural heritage but also an expression of the fundamental democratic right to peaceful assembly and freedom of expression.
In this same spirit, EcoAlbania continues to stand alongside students, supporting their right to protest peacefully, express their concerns, and make their voices heard. As an organization actively engaged in environmental education and civic awareness, we recognize the essential role of young people in democratic participation and in shaping the future of our society.
The right to peaceful protest is a constitutional right and a fundamental pillar of any democratic society. It must be respected and protected, ensuring that students and all citizens can exercise their freedoms without fear, intimidation, or disproportionate interference.
EcoAlbania reaffirms that its solidarity with students is a natural continuation of the principles and civic engagement demonstrated throughout the Flamingo Revolution. Our commitment to environmental protection, education, democratic participation, and fundamental freedoms remains unchanged.
