The project “Media and Environmental Causes in Albania” (MECA) aims at analyzing the role of the media in following and reporting the activation of local communities for the most important environmental issues of recent years, until their solution. Our intention is the engagement of the media in the pursuit of environmental issues in order to foster co-operation between local communities, CSOs and the media for greater involvement of local communities in environmental issues, thus contributing to the preservation of democracy and better journalism. In the frame of this project there will be carried out an assessment of the current situation on the contribution of media on environmental issues reporting, as well as a report with case studies and recommendations for the media/journalists community, CSO’s.
