EcoAlbania continues the implementation of the project “Together – an eye for the environment”. Already in its second phase, this project includes an education campaign with young people of different ages, areas of interests and professions on topics of energy efficiency, conservation, thermal insulation of buildings and relevant legislation.

“Gjergj Canco” high school students conducted a study visit at AL-NOBEL company where they had the possibility to take a closer look at various solar panels, photo-voltaic panels and some of the materials used for thermal insulation. During this visit, they were introduced with the operating system of solar panels, their various models, technological innovations, and the practices used to install panels in buildings of different heights. The company’s engineers explained to the students methods used for thermal insulation of water plants in order to increase energy efficiency and conservation.

Photo-voltaic panels were an important part of the study visit. Pupils were explained the composition of these types of panels. The solar cell technology inside the panels catches the sun’s lighting and turns it into electricity. Connections to the circuit, injecting electricity into the grid, the ability to produce electricity even when there is no sunlight were other topics addressed.
In particular, students were interested on technicalities regarding the adaption of the existing infrastructure within new technologies such as solar and photovoltaic panels. The possibility to install them in existing buildings, technical difficulties they may encounter as future professionals and financial convenience resulting from their use were among issues discussed between students and engineers of the company.
EcoAlbania will continue the education campaign on topics of energy efficiency and conservation, as well as diversification of energy resources with other young people from different areas of interest.
