On September 25 the World River Day was held in Tirana, Albania, where experts, scientists and activists met to formulate a protest against the construction of hydropower plants.
Italianinsider.it reports from the World River Day in Tirana, where the participants called upon Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Albania, to hold off any dam construction works for the three years at the Vjosa River, to be able to conduct an environmental assessment of the region.
The rivers have not yet been fully researched and the knowledge of the ecological importance can thus not be determined.
