Balkaninsight.com claims that Prime Minister Edi Rama broke his promise to create a national park in the Vjosa Valley.
Under the former Albanian government concessions were given to build eight hydro power plants, which were not to be realized according to Rama. But in reality concessions for new projects were given.
Different conservationist and activist NGOs fight for the creation of a national park, where it will be prohibited to construct any kind of hydro power facility.
